Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. As a child, she was inspired by classical music, boleros and the classic romantic, ranchero, as well as romance ballads. Ana has a passion for Tangos, opera, and all forms of dramatic performance. Ana began learning and singing music with her mother, then began more intense vocal training when she was 16 working with the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio Becerra. She continued her musical training at the School of Music of Guadalajara University and later at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. As a student and young professional, she performed with various chamber groups as well as opera choirs in Guadalajara and Mexico City. When she moved to the United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before shifting to her place in southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and sings Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. She has been involved with a number of local organizations in both teaching and performer because of her passion for art and music. Ana is a previous participant in the Community Chorus of Redlands (as well as Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able bring to others her passion for the tradition of Latin American music. She hopes this can encourage younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
